Why is Ju-Jitsu called the "gentle art"? Because Ju Jitsu emphasizes using leverage, technique, and body mechanics to overcome a stronger or larger opponent, rather than relying on brute strength. This involves redirecting an opponent's force, using joint locks, chokes, and positional control to subdue them with minimal physical effort. While the techniques can be powerful and effective, they are designed to be applied with minimal aggression and maximum efficiency, making it a "gentle" approach compared to striking-based martial arts. Mu Sul Ju Jitsu is Korean Ju Jitsu.

The history of FIGHT CUT/STATIn 2000, David Sgro, our Chief Instructor, was honored to be contracted by 2/3 Special Forces Group (Airborne)—the elite U.S. Green Berets—to teach his F.I.G.H.T. C.U.T. (Fully Integrated Grappling and Hitting Techniques, Close-Up Techniques) Combatives Program. After this in 2002 he was contracted to train over 1,100 Airborne Soliders from the 82nd ABN and Certify them as Instructors. In 2005 USACAPOC (United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command) contacted David Sgro to develop a program to go ARMY WIDE with STAT (Securing Techniques And Tactics). STAT was designed for Civil Affairs (CA) and Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Soldiers that were not classified as "Combat Arms" in the U.S. Army, but still operated in potentially dangerous environments, with their roles primarily focused on support, information, and influence rather than direct combat. However in Oct 2006 USACAPOC was administratively reorganized under the U.S. Army Reserve Command (USARC),
Both FIGHT CUT and STAT draw from Japanese Ju-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate), and Filipino Kali. Both FIGHT CUT and STAT course was developed in response to the critical need for military personnel to receive effective, adaptable, and realistic hand-to-hand training for both combat and personal safety. |
